You've tackled two of the most divisive issues in America - - politics and religion - - with clarity, thoughtfulness and truth. Ignore the naysayers and keep up the good work!
So, I reread your post after this morning's discussion and stand by my statement. Your are right, we often disagree with one another on content. And we often agree. My statement was, for me, a critique of the entire piece around a common theme for your writing lately. And, yes, it sounded whiny to me. Our friend, who often critiques your pieces before you post them, has been known to disagree with your content. And, you know I have not missed your other writings, and have in fact commented favorably on them. So, there you have it! Still appreciate who you are and your willingness to discuss all subjects whether we agree or disagree. I believe we still learn from each other. Look forward to the next post:)
Time to move your column to other things than politics. Your writing has become repetitive and winy since the election. You are a much better writer than your recent columns portray. Dig deep and move forward.
thank you but I have opinions. Politics? these days, every day presents more challenges to our lifestyle. Want me to talk about sports, or TV? I think your comment about whiny is because we have different views. A good friend, who critiques my pieces, often before I write them, has similar views to yours in many categories but talks about how I make my point, not whether he agrees or disagrees. I had pieces about loss, growing up, humor etc. You must have have missed those since November. but thanks for the compliment about me being a good writer.
What a fascinating comment. Isn't the point of Substack to allow writers to write about anything that matters to them? FYI, the word is "whiny," but the post wasn't.

Well said! The Dems need a better voice and act from strength rather than from defensiveness.
